Boat season is around the corner. Do you need a watercraft insurance policy? Absolutely. If nothing else, you at least need to make sure that you get watercraft liability insurance coverage for any personal watercraft that you own so that you are protected against anything that might go wrong. In most states, boat insurance and watercraft protection are NOT required by law. However, if you have a loan, your lender might require it. Even if you aren’t mandated in any way to get watercraft liability insurance coverage, you should still do it if your vessel has any actual cash value. This will protect you from damage expenses that could come out of your pocket and help to pay for repairs of other property in the event that you have an accident.

Renter’s Insurance Highlights

There is no state law saying that you have to have renter’s insurance in most states, but there is usually a clause in your lease where the homeowner mandates that you get the coverage. Liability coverage protects personal belongings and also can be purchased to help with additional living expenses and personal liability protection.

Auto Insurance Highlights

Thursday, February 24th, 2011

The average family spends an annual average of $1,789 on Auto Insurance, which is down 5% from the June 2009 annual average of $1,884, according to Insurance.com’s Rate Watch comparison report. This is good news for drivers; however some families in certain parts of the country are starting to see rates creep back up.

Auto insurance is largely based on risk. And with the current economic downturn and high-unemployment rate, drivers may begin to see their rates increase. Another main factor that may cause rates to increase is hospital cost shifting. Analyzing and negotiating hospital bills can increase auto insurance premiums as they add to the overall cost of the adjusting auto insurance claims.
